4th of July Weekend

After Tyler and the "Tigers" got off the ship, Tyler had a few days of leave.
Everyone stayed to play for a holiday weekend on the beach.
We went to a baseball game
 Watched lots of fireworks
Toured an old WWII Battleship
Played at the beach - boogie boarding,
building sandcastles, and playing football
and ... Ate TONS of delicious food.
I don't have a ton to say about this...just a lot of pictures.
Oh and Tyler and I are tremendous hosts if you would like to come visit us on the Beach!

Ty had NEVER built a sandcastle !?!?!

The Little Things

When people know your husband is deployed they ask the Dumbest questions.
Like ... "Oh your husband's gone? Do you miss him?" Or "Oh he'll be back next week? Are you excited?"  Now I don't mean to be rude or sound ungrateful that someone had a little interest in my life, but if you ever feel the urge to ask someone such a ridiculous question...Fight It! I did once, however, have someone ask me what I miss most with Tyler being gone. An acceptable question? Yes. My answer? The little things. I missed making him dinner every night, riding our bikes down to get crab dip, rolling over in the middle of the night and seeing him next to me, "you cook the food, I clean the food", Tides games, praying together, Monkeys on the Wii, the beach, his corner of junk, a thousand cups of Orange Julius, getting slurpees and chips at Sev, holding his hand, jamming out to a little BSB in the car, or just sitting on the couch next to him watching TV. The other night Tyler and I had one of those "Little Moments" that make me SO grateful he's home, and that I'm done missing out on the Little Things with him! At 1:30  in the morning we woke up to flashes of light and one of the loudest thunderstorms ever. The storms here are nothing like they are back in Utah ... there's just no way to explain it. Anyway, even though Tyler had to wake up in less then four hours, we jumped out of bed and spent the remainder of the storm hanging out on our balcony watching the sky light up and basically crash down on top of us. It was incredible. Here's to having my best friend back and a lifetime left of the Little Things!

" Look Everybody ... Looook Who's Back Again "

We sat on the pier for what seemed like forever!!!!!
I sat on a camp chair and ripped right through it...keepin' it classy
Made a new friend who was probably 2
Tried to read a book to no avail
Took some pictures
Watched a bunch of other people who were all waiting on a sailor
Laughed as each new group screamed when they could finally see the ship
Got pushed out of our spot by a VERY aggressive couple - who apparently thought they were the only ones excited to see someone?
Experienced a vast variety of freak weather
And finally took pictures of Paul taking pictures of us
But it was all TOTALLY worth the wait!

The Tiger Cruise

While my mom and I were trekking our way across the country...my dad and my in-laws flew to Florida and got to ride from Florida to Virginia on Ty's aircraft carrier, The Mighty Ike. They got to experience a day in the life of my sailor...eating terrible food (Grade D meat meant for prisoners and U.S. Miliray only - this is a true story), sleeping in a tiny rack, but also the cool things too...jet engines my hubby fixes, airshows, a sonic boom, and tours of that mighty floating city. My pappy took some sweet pics!

This is one of the engines Ty fixes
