Happy Birthday Fish
It was Tyler's birthday this week. Luckily he only had to go to work for like an hour that morning. I decorated the house for him while he was gone and when he got home he opened a few presents, and then we went to see PLANES. It wasn't as good as Cars, but still really cute. Plus Ty loved that his ship was in it renamed the USS Dwight D. Flysenhower! Ha ha Flysenhower. My parents gave Tyler an incredible present that I benefited from as well. They made us reservations and prepaid for an incredible dinner at Salacia, a 5 star steak house here in Virginia Beach. We had a private booth with no chairs...just couches and comfy pillows right on the beach. We LOVED it. The view was AMAZING, the food INCREDIBLE, and the company even better. After dinner we sat and listened to a sweet band playing on the beach. So glad to finally be spending our first full year together. I love you little Fish.
Our Impromptu Trip to Busch Gardens
Tyler unexpectedly had the day off on Thursday! Hooray for days off. We had been wanting to go up to Busch Gardens and decided it was a perfect day. Plus there are some perks to being in the NAVY ... the first time you go up to the park is FREE. They take your husband for 10 months, but you get to ride roller coasters for free. So how could we turn that down? And we LOVED it! Plus it was very educational. The things I learned at Busch Gardens...
No matter the distance you travel from Provo you cannot escape BYU fans
You will pay $27 for lunch if you don't bring your own
If you go on the river rapid ride you WILL get soaked
If you get soaked in this humidity you will not dry
It's really hard to win a stuffed corn on the cob wearing a cowboy hat
Apparently it is socially acceptable to wear nothing but a swimsuit out in public
A cold coke can solve almost any problem
And I'm getting old

4th of July Weekend
After Tyler and the "Tigers" got off the ship, Tyler had a few days of leave.
Everyone stayed to play for a holiday weekend on the beach.
We went to a baseball game
Watched lots of fireworks
Toured an old WWII Battleship
Played at the beach - boogie boarding,
building sandcastles, and playing football
and ... Ate TONS of delicious food.
I don't have a ton to say about this...just a lot of pictures.
Oh and Tyler and I are tremendous hosts if you would like to come visit us on the Beach!

The Little Things
When people know your husband is deployed they ask the Dumbest questions.
Like ... "Oh your husband's gone? Do you miss him?" Or "Oh he'll be back next week? Are you excited?" Now I don't mean to be rude or sound ungrateful that someone had a little interest in my life, but if you ever feel the urge to ask someone such a ridiculous question...Fight It! I did once, however, have someone ask me what I miss most with Tyler being gone. An acceptable question? Yes. My answer? The little things. I missed making him dinner every night, riding our bikes down to get crab dip, rolling over in the middle of the night and seeing him next to me, "you cook the food, I clean the food", Tides games, praying together, Monkeys on the Wii, the beach, his corner of junk, a thousand cups of Orange Julius, getting slurpees and chips at Sev, holding his hand, jamming out to a little BSB in the car, or just sitting on the couch next to him watching TV. The other night Tyler and I had one of those "Little Moments" that make me SO grateful he's home, and that I'm done missing out on the Little Things with him! At 1:30 in the morning we woke up to flashes of light and one of the loudest thunderstorms ever. The storms here are nothing like they are back in Utah ... there's just no way to explain it. Anyway, even though Tyler had to wake up in less then four hours, we jumped out of bed and spent the remainder of the storm hanging out on our balcony watching the sky light up and basically crash down on top of us. It was incredible. Here's to having my best friend back and a lifetime left of the Little Things!

" Look Everybody ... Looook Who's Back Again "
We sat on the pier for what seemed like forever!!!!!
I sat on a camp chair and ripped right through it...keepin' it classy
Made a new friend who was probably 2
Tried to read a book to no avail
Took some pictures
Watched a bunch of other people who were all waiting on a sailor
Laughed as each new group screamed when they could finally see the ship
Got pushed out of our spot by a VERY aggressive couple - who apparently thought they were the only ones excited to see someone?
Experienced a vast variety of freak weather
And finally took pictures of Paul taking pictures of us
But it was all TOTALLY worth the wait!
Our point of view...
Their point of view ...
Finally off that Dan Brown Boat ...
